In this week’s Diva Dish, follow Natalya, Maria, Divas Champion Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly, Maryse, Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix and Layla as Raw, SmackDown and ECW tour Europe.

European tour
Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix said no matter where she and her boyfriend, Santino Marella, visit in Europe, they’re given a warm welcome, especially in Italy.

“We went to do little sightseeing. We saw the Colosseum. I met his family and his friends,” The Glamazon said. “And of course we were mobbed by Santino Marella fans all across Italy. I’ve always seen it in him. He’s really appreciated in Italy and hopefully we’ll get the chance to go back again.”

Touring Europe hasn’t been 100 percent enjoyable, though. Not only did Marella lose the Intercontinental Championship to William Regal on Raw this week, but Glamarella has been harassed by paparazzi in nearly every city.

“We need our alone time, too. Paparazzi hanging from trees and hiding behind bushes is a little much,” Phoenix said.

A Diva scorned
Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix offered Diva Dish some choice words for Batista days after he Batista Bombed her into her boyfriend, Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella, on Raw.

“Obviously it was just Batista being nothing more than the big, spineless bully that he is,” the fuming Diva said.

“Now I have to walk around with Santino wearing that ridiculous face mask. Do you know how that hurts my image? All of his modeling gigs? Batista’s going to pay for this, and pay big time,” Phoenix warned.

Europe-bound Divas
In less than two weeks, WWE Superstars and Divas will embark on a multi-city tour of Europe. Some of your favorite Divas will soon be strutting down the Champs-Elysees in Paris and enjoying the Spanish culture in beautiful Barcelona.

Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix said her presence in several European cities will only make them better.

“I’ve heard that Spain is one of the most beautiful countries in the entire world, so I’m totally looking forward to adding to their beauty by bringing The Glamazon to Barcelona and Madrid,” she said.

“More than anything, I’m looking forward to Paris, seeing the historic monuments and experiencing the culture. I definitely want to visit the Eiffel Tower. I’m a big fan of art, and I know Paris is known for its art and fashion,” the Raw Diva said.

Don’t be surprised if Phoenix is caught stealing a kiss from her boyfriend at the top of the Eiffel Tower.

“It’s a very romantic city. It’s probably the most romantic city in the entire world. Where better than the Eiffel Tower to take my man? Maybe we’ll grab a beautiful lunch at a bistro,” she mused. “Santino is Italian, he is European, so he’s going to feel right at home in one of his neighboring countries. Although it won’t be the same as Italy, it’ll be close.”

Raw, SmackDown and ECW travel through Europe from Sept. 24 to 27, and will visit Bilbao, Madrid and Barcelona in Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; Innsbruck, Austria; Munich, Germany; and Paris.

Diva Dish: The Glamazon’s new pal

In this Diva Dish, Beth Phoenix finds a special, new friend.

The Glamazon’s new pal
Beth Phoenix made a new friend while on tour with WWE this week. Before the live Raw show in Washington D.C., The Glamazon stopped by the WWE Circle of Champions visit with Make-A-Wish’s Robert. The experience turned out to be a moving one for the former Women’s Champion.

“This was my first Make-A-Wish experience, getting to meet all the Circle of Champions honorees. Robert, in particular, stood out to me as a kid with an incredible fighting spirit. It was an emotional meeting, but at the same time, it was very uplifting for me. It makes you appreciate each and every day and know how important it is not to take anything for granted,” she told Diva Dish.

It just so happens that while Robert’s Wish was to meet John Cena, the young WWE fan found himself enamored with the beautiful Diva.

“Well, I would have to say that I can’t blame Robert for picking me above all the other Divas,” The Glamazon smiled. “By the end of the meeting, actually, it was whispered to me that Robert wanted to be my boyfriend. He’s a very cute little guy and I’m sure that maybe one day if he gets the opportunity, I’d love to take him out for a bite to eat or something.”

Diva Dish: Making Divas history

Written: July 25, 2008

In this week’s Diva Dish, Natalya, Victoria, Cherry, Maria, Beth Phoenix and Mickie James share their thoughts on Michelle McCool’s big Divas Championship win at The Great American Bash.

Making Divas history
When Michelle McCool became the first-ever Divas Champion Sunday at The Great American Bash, WWE’s history books changed forever.

Former Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix offered her congratulations to McCool – a Diva she’s previously challenged in the ring. Phoenix also gave the All-American Diva a warning.

“Kudos to Michelle for making history and becoming that first Divas Champion, but – and there’s always a but – having been a champion myself, I know what it feels like to have to bull’s-eye on your back, and Michelle better have eyes in the back of her head,” The Glamazon said.

“Now that the Divas Championship is up and running on SmackDown, it’s only going to be a matter of time before everybody comes gunning for that title. And you never know, The Glamazon looks really good in gold, so Michelle better watch out because one of these days, when she least expects it, I might be around the corner ready to snatch that away from her,” Phoenix said.

Diva Dish: Brave Glamazon

Brave Glamazon
Beth Phoenix has never been a Diva to back down from a challenge. That’s why this past Monday on Raw, The Glamazon got in the ring with Santino Marella and picked up a win.

“I did what I said I’m always going to do – raise the bar. Santino issued an open challenge to anyone in the locker room. The Divas have a locker room, as well, you know,” the Raw Diva said.

“I’m sure he didn’t expect me when I came out. A lot of my opponents have underestimated me in the past and I’m here to make a statement – that each and every time I come to the ring, The Glamazon is doing nothing but heading straight to the top,” she continued. “Former Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella is a tough guy, but tonight The Glamazon was tougher!”

Phoenix assured us she’s not afraid of any opponent, and if Marella wants to return for more punishment, she’s game.

“As many times as Santino wants to challenge me and put me down, I’ll be glad to take him on and show him that The Glamazon is tops!” she said.

Glamazon takes on South America
Beth Phoenix made her first trip to South America during Raw’s recent tour, and the Glamazon said she was welcomed with open arms.

“I was excited to see the fans, who are, as always, excited to see me. That’s who they bought their ticket to see. It was really cool. It was an area that I think really appreciated WWE coming into town,” the Raw Diva said.

“It was really cool to drive through the countryside, especially when we were in El Salvador, to see the way people live, in the poverty they live in, really makes you appreciate what you have. I was really humbled by the experience.”

On a side note, i apologize for the extreme lateness of Raw caps, but i have had the busiest week ever this week, I promise to have the caps up ASAP.

Diva Dish: South of the Border
By: Kara A. Medalis
Written: May 30, 2008

In this week’s Diva Dish, say olé! as Mickie James, Beth Phoenix and Katie Lea travel to Mexico.

¡Viva Mexico!
The Divas recently traveled South of the Border when Raw visited Mexico. Diva Dish caught up with a few of the Sexiest Women on Television after their trip.

“The matches were fabulous, mostly because I won every single one of them,” said reigning Women’s Champion Mickie James. “The shows were amazing. The fans were great. There were thousands and thousands of fans. One day in Mexico City, I actually went out into the crowd before the show and walked around and waved and shook hands, and had some one-on-one interaction with our fans, which was really neat.”

Beth Phoenix told Diva Dish her trip to Mexico was also great, especially because she enjoys the hot weather. Plus, she said our Mexican fans loved seeing The Glamazon in person.

“When I was walking from the ring to the back, the fans just showed me a lot of respect. I got a lot of really positive reactions from them,” she explained. “It showed me that they respect what The Glamazon can do. They know quality female wrestling when they see it. That was the highlight of my trip.”

Diva Dish: Golden girl
By: Kara A. Medalis
Written: March 28, 2008

This week in Diva Dish, newly-crowned Women’s Champion Mickie James talks about her victory.

Golden girl
Moments after Mickie James was victorious over Beth Phoenix to win back the Women’s Championship in London on Monday, Diva Dish was there to hear Mickie’s thoughts and experience the excitement surrounding her big win.

“I feel exuberated,” said a beaming Mickie. “There are no words that can really describe how I feel. I’ve gone a million matches against Beth and had yet to beat her. I’ve thrown everything but a brick wall at her. Tonight it all paid off.”

Mickie attributes her victory to studying Beth’s matches and training hard, day after day. The new Women’s Champ said she believes she’s finally found The Glamazon’s weakness.

“The fact is that I’m just a little bit quicker. She may be stronger. She may be bigger, but I’m quicker and maybe a little smarter,” Mickie explained.

The Diva’s mother is on the top of her list of people she’d like to thank for their support. Next are fellow Raw beauties, Maria and Ashley.

“It felt good that they were there, because it shows that they really care,” Mickie said. “They’re my friends and they’re not just single-serving friends, as a movie once said. They actually really do care about me.”

Mickie called herself a “fighting champion” and is ready to defend her coveted gold. As for the former Women’s Champion, Mickie refused to utter a negative word about her fierce competitor.

“Beth was one heck of a champion. I’m very glad that I was able to face her out there tonight and I’m very grateful I was able to win the gold from her tonight. I have nothing bad or crass to say about Beth, because that is not my style,” Mickie said.

“As for everyone else, I want to thank them for believing in me. I appreciate it and I love them all. I’m the new champion again. Four times … four times!”
