In a display of dominance, Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix defeated Candice Michelle with a Glam Slam to retain her gold. Ever since The Glamazon captured the title from Mickie James at SummerSlam, she has dominated both her opponents and the opponents of her boyfriend, Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella.
Tonight, Marella intervened, preventing a potential pinfall. But, he paid for it with a hard-hitting kick from Candice. Although Marella’s help allowed Phoenix to escape the near pinfall, it proved to be a distraction to The Glamazon. But, not for long. As the match continued, The Glamazon mounted an offense that Candice could not stop.

Going all-out with “The Glamazon”
WWE Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix discuses her rise to the top and gives her thoughts on the next wave of WWE Divas.
by Avi Burk
US, November 5, 2008 - Beth Phoenix made her WWE debut in 2006 and quickly emerged as one of the most captivating WWE Divas on the roster, diving right into a feud between two of the company’s top female talents, Trish Stratus and Mickie James. Phoenix appeared to be on the fast-track to the top of the Divas roster, but a devastating, in-ring injury suffered during a match with Victoria forced the dominant Diva to apply the brakes.
Phoenix returned to the WWE roster in July of 2007 and wasted little time making her presence known, winning the Interpromotional Divas Battle Royal at Summer Slam to become the No. 1 contender to face Candice Michelle for the Women’s Championship. Although Candice Michelle was able to successfully defend her title against Phoenix at Unforgiven, “The Glamazon” broke through and defeated Candice Michelle at No Mercy to claim her first WWE Women’s Championship.
After a five-month reign as the WWE Women’s Champion, Phoenix finally lost the title to Mickie James. However, Phoenix wasn’t without the belt for long, as she and her tag team partner Santino Marella defeated James and her partner, then Intercontinental Champion, Kofi Kingston in a Winner Takes All match at SummerSlam.
IGN caught up with “The Glamazon” at last week’s Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 event held at Florida Championship Wrestling’s developmental facility in Tampa, and Phoenix shared her thoughts on what it takes to ascend to the top of the wrestling industry, what it means to her to be included in a wrestling videogame for the first time, and how her experience coming up through the ranks compares to the training FCW is providing to the next wave of WWE Divas.
WWE.com has added some digitals of Beth from the Smackdown vs. Raw media event that happened at FCW on October 30th 2008. IGN has been posting a bunch of photos from this event over the weekend.
While browsing around Myspace.com, I found this photo of Beth on Shad Gaspard’s (Of Cryme Tyme) myspace account. The photo was taken while Raw was on Tour in Europe this past September.
IGN.com Q&A with Beth, Randy Orton and Jack Swagger
With all the in ring action wrapped up, Randy Orton, Beth Phoenix and Jack Swagger came out to field questions from the media, and the trio talked about everything from what it was like breaking in to the WWE to what it’s like traveling the world with the company and the rigors of performing for one of the most intense fan-bases in all of sports entertainment.
Orton got the Q&A started by letting everybody know how impressed he was by the FCW facility and just how big an advantage a state-of-the-art facility could make in training the WWE’s superstars of the future.
“When I got started in WWE development I was in Louisville, Kentucky, in OVW and we had one ring in what was like an old, World War II ammunition factory – it was old, it was torn up, and it wasn’t up to code, that’s for sure. It wasn’t the best conditions, that’s for sure. I don’t want it to sound like I’m complaining, but this is the first time I’ve set foot in this facility, and it’s really amazing,” said Orton. “It’s such a big difference, it’s amazing. When you have 20 guys sitting on the floor at practice and two guys in the ring, or four if it’s a tag match, not a lot of guys are getting ring time. But, more rings means more ring time and it really accelerates the learning process. It’s night and day from when I started seven or eight years ago to now and it’s really great for these guys coming up.”
IGN.com has just added a photo of Beth at WWE’s developmental territory FCW, along with Randy Orton and Jack Swagger. Below is a snippet of what they discussed in the Q&A.
After the bouts, former WWE Champion Randy Orton, current WWE Women’s Champion Beth Pheonix, and up-and-comer Jack Swagger stood in for an awesome Q&A, discussing everything from what life on the road is like as a WWE superstar to what it means to them to appear in a WWE videogame (or, in Swagger’s case, what it will mean to him once he’s made the SVR roster).
Next week the website will be releasing a series of stories and videos from the event, including interviews with “The Legend Killer” Randy Orton, “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, and “The Glamazon” Beth Pheonix.

Pepper of Forever-Shawn.net, has been kind enough to send along fourteen candids of Beth from last weeks edition of Monday Night Raw where Beth got spinebustered by Batista. Thanks Pepper!
A huge thanks to my good friend Bobby, we know have scans of Beth from the October 2008 edition of WWE magazine, where Beth along with Melina and that ECW chick (LOL) answer fans questions on love and life.
I have just updated the gallery with some scans from Powerslam and ProWrestling Illustrated magazines. These scans from from magazines that have come out in the past couple of months, but I have just been so busy I haven’t had time to scan them before now, so enjoy!
