The unlikely lovebirds prevailed to win the gold at the Biggest Blockbuster of the Summer. After defeating Kofi Kingston & Mickie James in the Winners Take All Match at SummerSlam, Santino Marella is the new Intercontinental Champion and Beth Phoenix is the new Women’s Champion.
When Raw General Manager Mike Adamle made the “Adamle Original” match, the rules stated the titles would go to the team getting the pinfall or submission. After James hit Marella with a brutal DDT, The Glamazon retaliated and pinned the Diva for the intergender tag team win. Phoenix is now a two-time Women’s Champion, and Marella is a two-time holder of the Intercontinental Title.

I have just updated the gallery with some scans from Powerslam and ProWrestling Illustrated magazines. These scans from from magazines that have come out in the past couple of months, but I have just been so busy I haven’t had time to scan them before now, so enjoy!
I completely forgot to add these but Andrew was kind enough to find these candids of Beth from her appearance at FCW’s tv taping that Beth teamed with Roucka against The Bella Twins.
Earlier today i posted the WWE.com article about Beth & Super Crazy appearing at the “Trivia Smackdown” event in Houston, Texas, well thanks to the wonderful Randi who was kind enough to donate sixteen candids taken of Beth from the event! Thank so much Randi!
WWE.com Exclusive Video: Santino and Beth’s gold acceptance speech
Beth says, she is so proud that someone who combines stunning beauty and physical dominance can finally be called a champion. Beth goes on, but is interrupted by Santino, who thinks she was talking about him. Santino says Beth did good too, then says he’s the intercontinental champion, champion of all the continents. He says Beth did good too, the women’s champion. He then says he will have a longer reign that the “Honky Donkey Man”. He trys to say some other stuff, but keeps nearly crying.
WWE.com exclusive video: Post Summerslam interview
Beth & Santino show off their belts, saying its back where they belong, while Santino nearly starts crying, saying he missed it so much. He says he did it “almost all by himself” which Beth takes exception to. He quickly brushes it off telling Beth she did a great job, and was so strong, but Kofi was no match for him, Santino is a superior athlete, and now he need to take the name plate off and put his old one back on, because he still has it (LOL). Joey Styles asks Beth for comments on the part of the match where Santino used her as a human shield, Santino, stammering, quickly says it was a special technique the developed and it worked because they’re the champions. Beth says all that matters is that they walked out the champions just like they said they were going to. Santino nearly starts crying again, and pushes the “Glamarella” name that has been pushed around of their relationship. Beth asks him if he’s going to cry, he says “the sweat is in his eyes”. Beth tells Joey he’s not crying, and tells Santino to hold up the gold, tells him it looks good on him, and then says they’ll have to go sort out the sweat burning Santino’s eyes.
The Glamazon is all over WWE.com today, not only has her last batch of Summer Skin photos been released, and her making an appearance on Santino’s Casa, she has also been mentioned on Matt Striker’s WWE.com show “Best WWEeek, Worst WWEek” show. In fact the whole show is pretty much all about Beth & Santino pretty much.
While Santino is bestowed with the honour of having the Best WWEek for breaking down the wall and getting to the Glamazon. He goes onto say that Beth has the raw power and devastating looks to get any guy on the roster (while hinting at himself), which leaves Striker wondering what Santino has going for him. Which is why he gets the Best WWek.
Beth was bestowed the Worst WWEek. Striker says that when Beth & Santino tackle Mickie and Kofi at Summerslam, the outcome isn’t the story because even if Beth wins, she still loses, since she’ll be faced with Santino. This has landed her in Strikers “Beauty and the Beast Hall of Fame”, and for keeping Santino around, Striker awards Beth the worst WWEek.
My awesome friend Bobby has been kind enough to donate scans of Beth from three different magazines. Firstly he donated scans of Beth from Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s September 2008 edition, with photos of Beth vs. Melina at ONS 2008. Secondly scans from the newest edition of WWE Kids magazine, and finally a scan from the newest edition of WWE Magazine. S a huge thanks again to Bobby for the scans!
WWE.com has a video feature on their website hosted by Matt Striker where he looks at celebrities and WWE stars who have had the best and worst weeks, in this weeks video Striker gives the honor of “Worst WWEek” to Santino Marella for losing his open challenge that Beth accepted and won.
In a funny part of the video, Striker ponders that he has never seen Beth and Natalya in the same room, getting in on the fact that many think Beth & Natalya look similar. Striker has obviously not been paying attention, Beth and Natalya were both featured in the build to the tag match at Backlash 2008 and for several shows after that time.

In the ring with WWE diva Beth Phoenix
Live wrestling and the wrestling you see on television aren’t quite the same thing, WWE RAW diva Beth Phoenix said.

Live wrestling and the wrestling you see on television aren’t quite the same thing, WWE RAW diva Beth Phoenix said.
“It’s a completely different animal,” she promised. “You get the drama, like you see on TV, but it’s very interactive. Anything can happen.”
Phoenix, also known as “The Glamazon,” was in Charleston on Friday to promote World Wrestling Entertainment RAW’s Summer Slam, tonight at the Charleston Civic Center. A legion of WWE wrestlers will battle it out in the ring. Phoenix takes on Mickie James in an effort to regain her championship title.
At 5-foot-7, with undeniably powerful-looking shoulders and arms, it’s hard to imagine the championship isn’t hers for the taking. Of course, that’s all part of the show.
As promised yesterday, I’m back with a gallery update for you all. Today i bring you captures of Beth from the August 26th 2006 edition of OVW. This was Beth’s second show back in OVW after breaking her Jaw on Raw in June of 2006. It has took me a lonngg time to track down this episode, but i finally found it (thank you Ebay :)). You can also view the digital from the show at this link. Below are the official results from OVW’s website when the show first aired:
Backstage, WWE Superstar Beth Phoenix stopped by to talk to ODB and Charles Evans, but was interrupted by Serena. ODB boast once again of having just returned from another foreign land - this time Tokyo - in defense of the belt she claims to be the Women Championship Belt. Serena cared more about shutting ODB up and one way to do that would be to get the belt; thus she demanded a match. ODB agreed upon the stipulation that Serena must first beat ODB in a tag-team match next week on the show. Serena agreed and left. Phoenix, upon hearing the news, was not happy. She wanted a chance at the title herself. ODB said that such a match was okay by her and shook hands with Phoenix. Once she left, however, ODB had a good laugh with Evans before heading out to the ring with The Hammer for his match against Seth Skyfire.
