Last PPV Appearance
Name: WWE No Mercy Date: October 5th, 2008 Match: Beth Phoenix vs. Candice Michelle
In a display of dominance, Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix defeated Candice Michelle with a Glam Slam to retain her gold. Ever since The Glamazon captured the title from Mickie James at SummerSlam, she has dominated both her opponents and the opponents of her boyfriend, Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella.
Tonight, Marella intervened, preventing a potential pinfall. But, he paid for it with a hard-hitting kick from Candice. Although Marella’s help allowed Phoenix to escape the near pinfall, it proved to be a distraction to The Glamazon. But, not for long. As the match continued, The Glamazon mounted an offense that Candice could not stop.

MichelleMcCool recently blogged on her WWE Fan Nation page (no I will not call it that terrible WWE Universe name), and posted regarding many things, including her loss to Beth Phoenix on Smackdown’s debut on MyNetworkTV.
Things were definitely dark on the mynetwork premiere two weeks ago as I fell victim to the “glam slam,” but I definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel. That was the first time that I have faced Beth one on one (do you actually call it a singles match though when there are 12 other girls surrounding the ring?) & I’m not afraid to give credit where credit is due. Beth is tough and by far the strongest competitor I’ve faced this far. It ‘also didn’t hurt the fact that Maryse decided to stick her nose where it didn’t belong….once again! Things obviously aren’t over between the two of us (nor me and Beth for that matter….and yes Beth, that is a challenge). I looked for Maryse last week, but oddly enough, I couldn’t find her. As far as I’m concerned, she was hiding (or looking in the mirror which could also very well be). I just hope and pray I see her this week…..two words - unfinished business!
Beth featured on “100 hottest women in combat sports” list
While browsing one of Beth Unlimited’s Elite affiliates, Jillian-H.Com, I found a link to a website that published their own list of “100 hottest women in combat sports”. Beth was featured pretty highly, coming in at number 22. along with a photo of Beth, they had a little quote by all the women, Beth’s said: We’d say something witty here, but she’d kick the shit out of us. you can view the full list, by clicking here.
Beth Phoenix vs. Michelle McCool for Smackdown debut?
Although it hasn’t been 100% confirmed there is a high chance that Raw’s women’s champion Beth Phoenix will take on Smackdown’s Divas Champion Michelle McCool in an inter-promotional match for Smackdown’s move to MyNetworkTV on October 3rd. Already announced for the show is Triple H vs. Matt Hardy vs. Chris Jericho in a champion vs. champion vs. champion match. More “champion vs. champion” matches are expected to be announced with Beth vs. Michelle as one of them.
Also there would be a good chance that Santino Marella would take on Shelton Benjamin so there’s a high proabability that Beth would be ringside for Santino’s match as well.
I’m ashamed to say that I do spend some of my spare time checking Perez Hilton’s website, and lo and behold he responded to the Santino’s Casa show that was posted on WWE.com yesterday. I wouldn’t bother posting, but he did mention Beth in his blog.
Yesterday during Unforgiven CM Punk took to the Internets on WWE Fan Nation’s Live Blog to answer fan’s questions. He had the following to say about Beth.
[Comment From Bdg32]
Who is your biggest inspiration, inside or outside the wrestling biz?
CM Punk - Hard to say. My best friend Chez inspires me to work hard…or at least half as hard as she does. As far as wrestling, the one person i’ve seen work as hard if not harder than me….and come from nothing is Beth Phoenix. I’ve got much unconditional love for the glamazon. She’s been through hell and back. Twice.
Nobodys better.
Thanks to SurpriseElement & Jessica for bringing this to everyone’s attention on the tagboard :).
