The Year of the Phoenix!
Sorry it was so long since my last Blog! Ok…so technically 2007 is The Year of the Pig in the Chinese Zodiac…but for me this year has special meaning. 2005 was the year that everything changed for me. I was signed to WWE on October 20, 2005. I couldn’t imagine things getting any better. I had worked 6 years in prowrestling to reach that point…and 3 years before that in amateur wrestling. Then, lo and behold, 2006 came along and things just kept getting better! I started off in January on the road with RAW with Idol and Shelly and I had this strange sensation of finally being home. Then over the summer I was given the most amazing opportunity in the world…to be Beth Phoenix on RAW. It was only 6 weeks of the greatest time of my life before I broke my jaw and everything changed. However, I believe in my heart everything happens for a reason. Coming back to rehab in OVW gave me the opportunity to be a part of creating an official women’s division. I’m really proud of that, all the women that have worked their asses off to make this happen and the OVW office that granted us this chance. I got to end 2006 with a bang with the ladder match.
Today is January 1, 2007. I don’t make resolutions because I think that they are destined to fail…but rather, I make personal goals. I cant publish what they are, but I plan to work harder than I ever have in my life to make this MY year. I have always lived by two philosophies…..
1: “The measure of a man is not how many times he falls down, but how many times he can pick himself up and keep moving forward.”
2: “No ‘What If’s’”
Life is so beautiful. Focus on the positive and happiness is right around the corner! So what can you expect to see from Beth Phoenix in 2007? I’m going to do what I love to do most…raise the bar for women’s wrestling.
