OVW WOMEN’S TITLE CEREMONY

Danny Basham took center-stage in the ring in order to invite all the OVW Divas out. Basham commended the ladies for their fine work in OVW. Rightly so, as they’ve put together some of the best matches in OVW during 2006 (just this reviewer’s opinion, at least), including the first-every Ladies’ Ladder Match. Then, just as he was about to present the new - and OFFICIAL - OVW Women’s Title to the champ, Katie Lea, Beth Phoenix snatched the title out of Basham’s hands and momentarily smiled to herself before turning back to Katie Lea. To the surprise of everyone, Beth handed the title over to Lea and shook her hand before leaving the ring to the first, as Basham put it, “real and official OVW Women’s Champion, Katie Lea!”
