OVW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
FIRST-EVER LADIES LADDER MATCH
BETH PHOENIX VS. KATIE LEA

A worried, but determined, Beth Phoenix entered the ring to look up at the two titles hanging from a chain high above the ring - one title that belonged to and won by Katie Lea and the other title being one that Beth Phoenix claimed was the REAL OVW Women’s Title that already had her name on it. Meanwhile, Katie Lea came out to pose on the top of the ladder at ringside that would be used in the match by one of the two to pull down both titles in order to become the OVW Women Champ.

Beth leapt out of the ring to attack, only for Lea to beat her to the punch by flying off the ladder to hit Phoenix with a splash! As Beth rolled on the floor, Katie dragged the ladder to the ring, propping it up on the apron. Phoenix attacked from behind and prepared to whip her into the ladder, but Katie reversed and it was Beth that went down in a convulsion of pain after slamming her back into the hard steel ladder! With Katie rolling into the ring and Beth still on the floor, the two began to fight over the ladder until Beth jumped on to the ladder from the apron, forcing the ladder to smack Katie square in the jaw, sending her backwards.

Ramming the ladder into Katie’s guts, Beth had enough time to set up the ladder under the chain holding the titles and got just within reach when Katie flew off a corner and dropkicked the ladder, sending both women to the canvas. With the ladder on its side, Katie folded it up in order to slam Beth down on it, but Phoenix got the better of her and instead it was Katie that felt the ladder in her back after a slam from Beth. With Katie incapacitated on the ladder, Phoenix moved to the corner to hit a splash. Yet Beth found out that it was a ruse, as Katie rolled off the ladder just as Beth jumped off the corner, forcing Phoenix to splash the ladder and sending waves of pain through her body!

As Beth was bent over in pain in the center of the ring, Katie set the ladder open on top of Beth and began climbing towards the prize. Beth wasn’t about to simply watch that happen, however, and literally pushed the ladder with Katie off of her, sending Katie to a corner where she had to eat the top of the ladder. Not satisfied, Beth rammed the ladder into Katie’s stomach and then placed it under Katie’s chin for a baseball slide into the bottom of the ladder, sending it back into Katie’s face.

It was Beth’s turn to go after the titles, but Lea was soon right there with Beth, hitting Beth with a neckbreaker from the top of the ladder! That wasn’t enough to stop Phoenix, though, and she was soon up on the other side of the ladder facing Lea. The two struggle on the top of the ladder until Beth managed to punch Katie off the ladder. Just as Beth was about to snap the titles off the chain, however, Lea pushed the ladder over and sent Beth right out of the ring! As Beth crawled back into the ring and towards the ladder, Katie slowly worked her way up the ladder and grabbed hold of the titles, snapping them off one by one in order to become the official OVW Women’s Champ!
