Pride…
It finally happened. It took me a couple of days to post a blog on the ladder match because it was a very very emotional situation for me. That match was more than just a ladder match…it marked the official beginning of a recognized women’s division in OVW. OVW has a special place in my heart. I feel that I’ve grown up here as a wrestler…and a woman. I’ve always been eager to take on any role that I’ve been blessed to have…from the manager of the Masterpiece…to the girlfriend of Idol Stevens….to the sugar sweet portion of the Idol-Beth-Shelly menage a trois….to the Glamazon….I’ve really had a great time coming into my own. After I was injured, I was uncertain when I would be returning to RAW. I had two choices…either I could pout and become increasingly bitter…or…I could make the best of my situation. Several women had been coming up in the ranks as great wrestlers…Katie Lea…ODB…Serena…Victoria Crawford…my old rival ECW’s Ariel…and many others…I couldn’t help but get a little jealous seeing them doing better and better each week. Afterall, I want to be the best. So I jumped into the mix…5 months later I found myself across the ring from the UK’s finest…Katie Lea…with our two titles hanging 20 feet above our heads. That match was the most painful thing I’ve ever been through. After it was all said and done, I did not come out the victor. But that match was not just about winning…it was about writing history. I’m so damn proud of that. I strongly believe that the women’s division in OVW is one of the best in the country. 2007 is a new era for the girls here…an era of endless opportunity. Thank you to Danny Davis & Al Snow…for giving us the stage. Their generosity & faith in me fuels me more than they know.
