Suddenly Shelly perches herself on Albright’s lap, cooing in his face and shivering his timbres, ready to walk the plank. With his black beard (…yes…), he reminds her of a pirate AND she wants to call him “Birchall”. “You can call the Champ anything you want”, replies Albright, glowing in Shelly’s blissful attention until she slaps one-half of a set of handcuffs on him and he immediately jumps up in protest. Shelly is unceremoniously dumped on the floor and then hauled out of the room by Aaron Stevens and Beth.
OVW TELEVISION TITLE MATCH:
CH. AARON “THE IDOL” STEVENS (w/Beth & Shelly) vs. SETH SKYFIRE
At last the Maharaja of Narcissism (…and that other thing, too) is defending his OVW TV Title again. But first he addresses Paul Birchall, the man who’s become his own obsession, vicariously through Shelly’s rampages and through his own pride in being OVW TV Champion, something at which he does NOT intend to give Birchall a shot “I pray to God you’re watching this match” as he obviously intends to make an example of young fan favorite Seth Skyfire TO Birchall. The only way he’ll ever give Birchall a Title shot, he concludes, is if someone else beats him (Stevens) for it first.
Fisticuffs and hard blows are traded in the opening minutes, with it looking more like a flat out fight rather than a wrestling match. Skyfire soon makes his first aerial assault attempt from the top, but it’s unsuccessful and it quickly becomes obvious that each man has the other’s moves well-scouted. Stevens knocks Skyfire to the outside, and the blows continue there but they’re quickly back inside where Stevens continues to press his strength and size advantage.
Pinfall after pinfall Skyfire rebounds, even after a devastating tilt-a-whirl backbreaker by the Champion in his dogged determination to punish his opponent in Birchall’s place.
As the match continues Skyfire gets in a little more offense as Stevens’ own intensive offense may have taken something out of his own self as well. The tide seems to have finally turned Skyfire’s way with a standing flip-over drop kick and an insiguri as Stevens down for the count.
Shelly jumps on the ring apron, only to be pie-faced off by Skyfire. Stevens runs across with a huge forearm in retailiation, but misses his intended victim and nearly takes the referee’s head off @$$ over teakettle. As Seth prepares to come off the top to put Stevens away, Beth pushes him off and now both men are down. Beth - who goes from sugar to spite in a heartbeat - then lays the kicks into Skyfire after attending to Stevens. Then the fireworks begin…
Paul BIrchall hits the ring to the approving scream of the crowd! Stevens slithers away to a corner while it’s BETH who stands ground against Birchall and repeatedly SLAPS him… and THAT brings in Shelly for a bona fide Pier Six brawl with Beth! Birchall and Stevens don’t know quite what to do, the referees can’t seem to stop them and the crowd screams it doesn’t WANT it stopped: “Let Them Fight!”.
In the ring, Birchall takes full advantage of the outside mayhem and lays out Stevens with a DDT, then directs Skyfire to come off the top for a huge leg drop. Birchall then rolls in the still-dazed ref Caleb Hall who SLOWLY makes the 3-count and Davis Arena explodes in support of the new NEW OVW TV Champion Seth Skyfire!
